Is Love in the Air?

Is Love in the Air?

Is love in the air? I can’t help but ask that as Mary and I have attended not one but four more weddings since I blogged about getting my perfect smile. It seems that everyone we know is tying the knot lately, our straight friends anyway. Every time I turn around and everywhere I look couples are holding hands and talking about finding the perfect wedding locations. Mary has been doing a lot of sighing lately and I think that spring has put the fancy for love in her heart as well.

She has been a bridesmaid at all of the four wedding we have been to lately. I decided to pick at her and told her “Always a bridesmaid never a bride,” and she cried. I won’t make that mistake again. I did tell her that her fashion sense made her one of the prettiest bridesmaids I had ever seen. I have a flair for fashion as we know, so that helped a little anyway. She has been helping this last bride with everything from the music to the catering services and I think it might be getting her down. I took her out the other night though, and she met a wonderful guy so who knows maybe love is in the air for my little sister as well.

Now me, that is a different story. I’m not ready to settle down and do the whole wedding thing. I’m happy for all of my friends, who have of course, and I wish them long and healthy marriages but fashion is my passion and I don’t have time for much else. Well….maybe if the perfect man came along we could talk about that. But that is another story.

I have to admit the weddings we have been to lately, and they have been all over the world, from South Carolina to the Bahamas, have been awesome. Some were casual and some were so touching that they brought tears to your eyes. No wonder, Mary is looking dewy eyed all of the time lately. Who wouldn’t with spring just arriving and love in the air? She will be okay though and I’m not ready to lose my little sis to some man yet. I’ll let her go when the time comes, but she doesn’t need to rush it. Big brothers huh? LOL Ta Ta for now,

A Perfect Smile

Your Smile is Important

Who would have thought that I would end up at a dentist in Richmond to improve my smile. As a fashion king, it is important to have a perfect smile as well, and I didn’t. I have corrected this recently and I couldn’t be happier. Well, I could, but it needed to be done and I put it off for quite a while. When I finally decided I needed to do something about my smile, I went online and found out that they offer all kinds of procedures.

Gone are the days of being a metal mouth if you need braces. There are invisible braces now, so that no one will ever have to know that you have a mouth full of metal to start with. Isn’t that a hoot? Other treatments for perfect smile design that Mary and I ran across in our search for the perfect smile included implants, teeth whitening and smile makeovers. The best thing was that this is all offered and advertised at an affordable price AND it is said to be pain free. Okay, I admit it. I am a wimp, a nervous nelly and any other negative thing you want to throw my way when it comes to the dentist. I hate a dentist and I hate needles. That is why I have put off getting that perfect smile for so long to start with.

So when Mary found this site offering pain free dentistry I was all for it and at cheap prices to! Yep, that is me. After all, how can you have the most gorgeous and fashionable clothes in SoHo if you don’t have the perfect smile to go with it. You can’t! So I am going very soon to get my smile taken care of and I’ll be even hotter than ever when I return. Mary is going with me of course and I’ll have it done just in time for another wedding that we are going to be attending. I’ll blog about that as soon as we return. We have been going out of town a lot lately. I think I’m becoming a well-traveled fashion king and now I’ll be well traveled, a fashion king and do it all with a great smile. Yes, I’m nervous. Can you tell? Okay, enough rambling, it is off to the dentist I go. Wish me luck! Ta Ta for now.

Eating Healthy

I had a little bit of a scare over the weekend. It seems that I may have not been eating quite the way I should, a lot of fried foods and a lot of McDonald’s lunches has given we high blood pressure and it seems that Mary and I are going to have to change our eating habits. So we are toying with the idea of becoming vegetarians or at least eating a more healthy diet. An episode like the one I had will quickly make you look at your life and the changes you might need to make.

So, we have been poring over the Internet and searching for some easy but still healthy vegetarian recipes. We have found quite a few but nothing that both Mary and I like. We are really not vegetable people, trust me. We did find a pea and pesto soup recipe that looks promising but we shall see. Luckily Mary and me are both excellent cooks and not afraid to try something new. The doctor didn’t say I couldn’t have meat, just that fried is not the best idea and that all the salt I eat is a big, big no-no for me as well. That is going to be the hardest for me, because I love salt and will sprinkle it on my food before I even taste it to see if it’s already sorry enough.

Mary told me that was going to get me in trouble one day. I really, really hate it when she’s right. We have come across some great cooking books online. Of course, not all of the cookbooks we have run across are healthy cookbooks but give me a break. I can’t just quit eating all of the good stuff cold turkey. Mary did find some cooking with Nigella cooking books that have some really great recipes in them and we are going to order a few. I wonder if I can somehow turn this into a fashion thing? Naaa, didn’t think so, but it was worth a shot.

Anyway, it looks like my days of greasy hamburgers and French fries are over, well at least severely limited. I’m not sure about the whole vegetarian thing however. On that front, we will just have to see. I do have another wedding coming up however and I wouldn’t want to pass out on the dance floor. Besides who couldn’t stand the lose a few pounds around the middle. Ta Ta for now.

A Trip to Budapest

Guess what? I finally got out of SoHo Manhattan and took a trip to another country. It was glorious, let me tell you. We left on a Monday and were gone for a week. It was the most fun Mary and I had had in ages. Where did we go you might ask, Budapest Hungary I would reply. We of course, had to leave Cassidy and Pedro behind for this trip but it was well worth it, and they were with a reputable dog kennel. They were certainly excited to see us when we got back on Sunday night though.

There was even a Duran Duran live concert while we were there. How awesome is that. The fashion sense there is pretty awesome as well. You know how I am about any type of fashion no no. I seen some pretty amazing clothes on some pretty amazing looking people while we were in Budapest.

The food was great as well and we visited some of the best out of the way café’s and bars while we were there. I’m more of a café coffee drinker while Mary is all about dancing the night away. I don’t know how many nights we dragged in at dawn because Mary had to dance just one more dance. Not that the men she was dancing with weren’t hot but I would have preferred a quiet table and some nice conversation.

Before you ask, yes we did get some culture while we were there. It wasn’t all partying and coffee. We immersed ourselves in the culture of Budapest and seen some of the sights and visited some museums during the day. We even ended up seeing the Budapest Spring Festival with John Malkovich. One of Mary’s favorite cultural events was going to the Aquincum Museum and Ruins. She was all smiles the whole time we were there, and there wasn’t a gorgeous man in sight!

My favorite places of course, were the shops and malls in Budapest. I had to get my fashion fix you know and came home with many, many different outfits. After all, you can take the man out of SoHo, but you can’t take the fashion out of the man (or something like that.) All in all the trip was well worth taking and we had a ball. Now it’s time to settle back into work and this fashion blog. Ta Ta for now.

A Wedding not to forget

Mary and I attended a wedding in Soho over the weekend. Of course, we took Cassidy and Pedro with us, as lately we don’t go anywhere without them. They were dressed in the cutest little outfits, let me tell you, Pedro had a little black tuxedo and Cassidy had a little white dress, and they were gorgeous. Okay! Okay! You know I love my dogs. Now, back to the reason for this blog post. The wedding we went to was for a set of friends that we hadn’t seen in years. Let me tell you, the wedding was amazing. It could easily rival many of the celebrity weddings I have watched on TV and seen in magazines. Everything was just gorgeous.

From the food to the bride and groom, everything was beyond perfect. By the end of the ceremony, Mary and I both had tears in our eyes. The banquet hall where the reception was held was amazing as well, with balconies overlooking the city and everything from seafood to Mexican to choose from on the menu. Of course, we couldn’t take Cassidy and Pedro into the hall with us but we did sneak them out a doggie bag.

The dancing was wonderful and the band they picked to play knew everything from blues to modern rock. I don’t think there was a request made all night that the band couldn’t handle. The only thing that marred the moment was when the best man got drunk and fell into his plate during his toast to the bride and groom. Mary smothered her laugh, but still earned a dirty look from the bride’s mother. No harm was done however, the maid of honor cleaned him up, and the party went on.

To me the main thing that was exquisite were the flower arrangements and the bride’s bouquet. The bouquet she threw was amazing but the one she kept was breathtaking. I have never seen flowers so gorgeous and when I asked where they found them (hey you never know, I may need them someday) the grooms mother said they found some Los Angeles florists to do the flowers. I was impressed. I mean after all we are in SoHo, that is quite a trip for some flowers.

All in all the wedding was grand from the “I do’s” to the flowers. I will certainly not forget that wedding anything time soon. Ta Ta for now!

Designer Suit Trends

                                                   Men’s Designer Suit Trends

The BBQ went swimmingly and now we are planning a dinner party to be our next big event. These are some of my favorites because everyone dresses up and I get to see all the latest in men’s designer suits. I have always been a fan of men in suits, especially designer suits. Mary, would you have ever guessed it, is also a big fan. Although, she is at the moment obsessed with the man from last times blog and isn’t looking much at other men. Anyway, once again I digress from the purpose of this edition. Designer suits is the topic and I have every intention of telling you what I think.

Let’s start with Savile row suits and work our way forward. Some of the best stars in Hollywood have been known to wear these suits and look really sexy while doing it. Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, and Bruce Willis are but a few of the men that have sported this look and sported it well. Now I, Justin can sport a suit with the rest of them. Even Mary says that I am dapper when elegantly attired. How’s that for big words from an up and coming fashion designer? Anyway, back to the subject at hand.

The dinner party is set for Saturday night, and let me tell you, you will not want to miss it. Even with all of the hype going on concerning Abercrombie and Fitch moving to Savile Row, there will be plenty of the suits around to ogle. Everything can be tailored to go around a designer suit. Put on your suit, get a good tie or a nice scarf and you are ready to go. Okay, so it’s not quite that simple but you know what I mean. As far as I know, there will be designer suits from all around the world at the dinner party. We have decided to rent a hall for this dinner, as there will be dancing afterwards and all of the women will be in their best. Why waste that in an apartment when the woman on your arm could be showing off her new fashion to the world, not to mention you showing off your three-piece suit.

Sooo Mary and I decided why not rent a hall and do this dinner party up in style. Feel free to comment on anything about the dinner, or the designer suits. Ta Ta for now,

Chiminea for the Perfect Garden Party Every Time

Chiminea for the Perfect Garden Party Every time

Mary and I have long been renowned for our garden parties and Bar-B-Que’s. But this year we decided to do our beginning of spring BBQ better than ever before. We did this by buying a Chiminea. A chiminea is the perfect BBQ experience and they are gorgeous to look at. It took Mary and me awhile to decide which one would be the best for us, because we had to have the perfect one to not only fit our taste but to set off our garden as well.

Buying a Chiminea isn’t easy you know. You can’t just go out and pick one up. It takes looking, researching and then deciding on the perfect one for you. You have to have the set and the log holder and don’t forget to mention the logs and fuel. There are many to choose from as well. Chiminea’s come in everything from a Mexican Chiminea Spring Green to a Four Elements Clay Chiminea Earth and it is really hard to make a choice.

While I got the menu together for our perfect spring party, Mary found a gorgeous cast iron Chiminea that took both of our breaths away. It is quaint and elegant and will add a certain flair to our gorgeous garden. Yes, yes, I know we live in an apartment in Soho Manhattan, but we do have a garden and a patio that was just dying to have a Chiminea in it. We are having a host of people over this weekend to BBQ for our annual spring fling. I’m giddy with excitement and have even bought matching spring outfits for Cassidy and Pedro. Hey! They are a part of the family to, you know!

We are going to have salad and throw some steaks, ribs, and chicken on the Chiminea. It will be a feast and everyone is welcome to come, even you, my faithful blog readers. Mary has her eye on a yummy guy that works with me at the fashion magazine so it should be a fun night for all. Who knows maybe I will even find Mr. Right around the Chiminea.

Either way, stop by if you get the chance, there will be much food, great music, all will have dancing dogs, (ours of course) and a great time. Hope to see you there! Ta Ta for now,

Justin

Lee and Pointer-The Only Way to Go

Lee and Pointer- The Only Way to Go

Well it has been quite a while since my last blog but I’m back and ready to enlighten, educate, and entertain you again. As you know, my name is Justin Fuery and this is the fashion blog you have been searching for all these years. Recently Mary and I have discovered a site that sells everything Lee, as in Lee jeans, and all of the things that go with that brand name. Now, they have clothes for men and women but I was most impressed with the styles that they have for men like me. The site is easy to navigate and really easy to buy from. As I have often said, have credit card, will spend, well this place is no different. I came away from there with a cannot wait until they are shipped attitude and a much larger credit card bill than I had before I found them.

Then it was time to sit back and wait for the day when my new possessions were delivered. Mary ordered some things from there and is very eager to try hers on as well. The big day finally came and I have never been so delighted with clothing in my life. The jeans fit perfectly, without having to throw them in the washing machine first. They weren’t stiff and fit just the way the advertisements said they would. I ordered them in black, dark blue, light blue and every other color imaginable as you probably already figured. I love to spend money, and if it is on fashion that is all to the good.

Now on to my next new fun place to order things from. I have recently discovered Pointer Crago footwear. We all know how much I love shoes and this place had me over my credit card limit in no time at all, (not really, but close anyway.) I ordered quite a few pairs but the ones that are my favorite are the Pointer Crago’s in a dark chocolate color. They fit well and didn’t even leave blisters on my feet the first time that I wore them. How is that for a greatly made shoe?

If you haven’t already, you need to check out both of these sites. You will be back here in no time at all commenting on this blog about the great buys, values and fit you get from Lee and Pointer. Of course, as usual, there is a pic included of one of my fab finds. Looking forward to your comments…

MVP Collars for the Pooch in your Life

MVP Collars for the Pooch in your Life

If you, like me, have a pooch that you just could not imagine life without then MVP dogs and their sports collars is the place for you and your dog to go to meet all of your puppies sporting needs. Mary and I both have dogs that are like our very own children and we both love any type of sports, from baseball to football and everything in between you can find us around the TV set anytime a game is own.

Mary has a poodle, I have a Chihuahua, and we are all about dressing them up in little outfits at Christmas, Easter and really any other occasion that we can come up with. Oh! Mary said not to forget Halloween, Cassidy was the cutest little ghost last year, she says. But I digress once again from the purpose of my blog, which is the gorgeous sports collars that we found for Cassidy and Pedro ( I know, I know, so typical, but it fits right?) They have the cutest little dog jerseys and tee shirts that I had a hard time choosing. Well, to make a long story short we ended up with one of each of the jerseys and tee shirts from every sports team, in every sport we love. Cassidy and Pedro have shirts and jerseys from the NFL, NBA, NASCAR, MLB, and every other initial for a sports team you can think of.

Our favorite however is the baseball dog collar. They have everything from the Atlanta Braves to the Texas Rangers and many in between to choose from. My favorite baseball team is the Texas Rangers so of course my Pedro had to have a couple of these sports collars to choose from. His collar can’t clash with his outfit of choice, now can it? Mary enjoys watching the New York Mets so of course Cassidy had to have the sports collars to go along with her outfits as well.

In the end we ended up with tons of stuff at a very low price, (for us anyway). Who would have thought a dog loving sports could be so expensive. Well, enough about dogs and sports for today. It’s time for the NASCAR race and I still need to get Pedro, and myself, decked out and fix some nachos. Anyone care to join me? If so, come on over, just be sure and bring your own drinks…

Casual Wear for the Spring

Casual Wear for the Spring

It is finally spring in Manhattan and I can’t wait to be able to wear all of the casual attire that goes with that. I have got to get the led out and go get enough Hugo Boss Green clothing to see me through the spring. Have I ever mentioned that spring is my favorite time of year? Well if I haven’t before, I will now. It is the time when everyone’s turn to love and I don’t mean love just for one another. I mean love for fashion, not for just each other.

Mary loves spring as well, though fall is her favorite season with all of the changing colors and falling leaves. Back to the casual clothing that I want to buy for this spring season. I want to get a lot of Boss Orange this year, as well as other casual shorts, tops and shoes that I have to have just to make it through until fall. Hey, I told you that I love clothes. Did I lie?

I think that the tee shirts and Polo’s are some of the classiest yet most elegant shirts around for this time of the year. You can wear them to work, to the beach or even to the club without worry that you will be under or overdressed, in my humble opinion anyway. Hugo Boss is also the best place to get casual or elegant, whichever you are trying to present to the world at that moment in time.

Working for a fashion magazine, as you well know, makes me something of an authority figure on all of the brands and type of clothing on the market today, and I’m telling you that even the jeans on from Hugo Boss are to die for. They are normally wrinkle free, and you can put them on straight out of the package, as they don’t feel rough and uncomfortable before you wash them.

So what are you waiting for, get online, go to a site that sells Hugo Boss and order your casual shirts, jeans, shorts and other outerwear today! You want be sorry you did and don’t forget that it’s spring, the time of true love and the time to let your fashion sense shine. HEHE! How was that for an advertisement? I should be an actor! Okay, off to prepare for spring. Ta Ta for now,

Justin
